The
OpenArtCode artists return to the Grand Palais in Paris to exhibit once again in
the Salon des Artistes Indépendants,
during ART en CAPITAL which will take place from 27 November to 2 December 2012.
After many
adventures and misadventures of the Salon
created by Louis XIV, the Société des
Artistes Indépendants (Society of Independent Artists) was created in 1884,
on the impulse of the artists who wanted to submit their art independently.
From a small group of innovative artists such as Paul Cézanne, Paul Gauguin,
Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Camille Pissarro and the "Founding
Fathers" Albert Dubois-Pillet, Odilon Redon, Georges Seurat and Paul
Signac, the Salon des Indépendants
was established.
The French
Ministry of Culture has gathered the 4 most important Parisian Salons, including the historical Salon des Artistes Indépendants in the
event ‘Art en Capital’, which each year attracts more than 30,000 visitors
(last year there were 40,000) to the Grand Palais.
Madame
Chapelle, President of the Société des Artistes Indépendants, has recently said
about the OAC Group:
Devenu
Studio Abba, coordinator of the
OpenArtCode group, designs the OpenArtCode Paris catalogue and promotes the
exhibition via the web and international press.
On the
evening following the official opening of the exhibition, the traditional
dinner of the OpenArtCode group will take place in a special restaurant in Paris.
In previous years, it has been held in prestigious venues, such as the Palais
de Tokyo, the Eiffel Tower and the Centre Pompidou.
